‘Aguero Ijesha’ Prepares Players Of Great Football Academy For Kick-off On September 20th

The founder and coach of Great Football Academy in Ijeshatedo area of Lagos, Jamiu Toheeb Folorunsho (aka Aguero ijesha) is preparing his players for the beginning of the 2026 Symbol Of Hope Cup on September 20th.

‘Aguero Ijesha’ disclosed in a chat with Sports247 that the academy, which he founded in 2012, will prepare very well in order to win the competition organised by a youth football promoter in the area.

He pointed out that he wants to impress the competition’s sponsor, who is fondly called ‘SOH,’ hence his expansion of his team’s training routine at their pitch, Fashola Garden, near ijesha Market.

The youthful and soft-spoken tactician is also psyching up his captain, Muhammad Hawal Akani, who plays from central defence, to fire up all the players and prepare their minds to do wonders during the competition.

‘Aguero Ijesha’ disclosed: “My aim is to carry the club to a higher level, and I believe that would be possible once we win this competition. That’s why I’m training them harder everyday.”

He went on to speak about his experience as a footballer and expressed a string ray of hope that his wards will be able to achieve what he could not gain before he hung up his playing boots.

“I played for Chair Chamber FC when I was young, but I could not go far in football. I am training these boys very well so that they can achieve what I was not able to get in football.

“We were runners-up in 2025 Dream FA Tournament, but my biggest achievement was when I won the 2021 final with my former team, Garden Boiz. Now we are preparing for SOH Cup.

“It’s a tournament which is hosted by SOH, and it will start on the 20th of this month. SOH is one of my best fans, and he always hosts us. It means Symbol Of Hope,” Aguero concluded.
