Golden Nnadi Hopes His Symbolic Name Will Power Paddysco FC To Victory In Nathaniel Idowu Unity Cup Final On Friday
Paddysco FC of Mile 2 enterprising attacker, Golden Nnadi is hoping that his symbolic name will power his team to victory on Friday in the final of this year’s Nathaniel Idowu Unity Cup.
Sports247 reports that, heading into the fixture versus Northern Lions FC at New Maracana Stadium (aka Big Field) in Olodi-Apapa area of Ajegunle, Lagos, Nnadi said he is fully focused on winning the game.
He added that, since his name is Golden, he believes it will spur his side to a historic win, so that he and his teammates would end the day with good medals dangling down their chests.
Nnadi added in a chat with Sports247: “We have stepped up our training at Mile 2 Estate Field and we have learnt new tactics from our coach, Sunday Omotosho. With all we have learnt, I am sure we will defeat Northern Lion.
“I know it will not be easy, because they are also a good team; but I believe God will see us through. We have worked hard and I believe God will crown out efforts with success.
“My name is Golden and I want a gold medal on Friday. My only expectation is just to win this final. That’s the only thing that I am focused on for now. I do believe that God will make it possible.”
Sports247 gathered further that Nnadi and his teammates will have to be tight at the back during Friday’s final, considering that they have conceded a goal in each of their four matches so far – Round of 32 – 4-1; Round of 16 – 2-1; Quarter Finals – 4-1; Semi finals – 1-1 (won 5-4 on penalties).
