\u201cI\u2019ve been here many times before and, first of all, I want to commend the man behind this competition. He\u2019s a fantastic young man who is very passionate about football development. He has a strong zeal to promote youth football in his own community.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, one major challenge he is facing is bad access roads to the venue. So, I am pleading, hoping that someone in the local government will hear me.
\u201cThe local government chairman should fix the road leading to this mini-stadium. That\u2019s the biggest support they can give him, because he is helping to develop kids in the area through football.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has become a yearly ritual, with many people coming here with their family members and friends. I have also been here maybe three or four times since the inception of this tournament,\u201d Ikpeba revealed.<\/p>\n
While stressing that having a good road leading up the arena\u2019s main gate will draw stakeholders from home and abroad to the venue, thereby boosting unity, tourism and commercial activities in the area, Ikpeba gave thumbs up to all the participating players and their coaches.<\/p>\n
The 1997 African Footballer of The Year, who was part of the Golden Eaglets\u2019 squad to the 1989 FIFA U17 World Cup in Scotland as well as Nigeria\u2019s gold medal winning team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA, posited that the players are getting what he did have at their age.
\u201cIt\u2019s good to see so many talented players here, and I am happy that they are all young. These ones are the future of Nigeria\u2019s football. They are also the future of Africa and the world at large.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir performances showed that they are well coached, and they are getting what I could not get when I was 13 years old. Football in those days was different from what we see now.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was based on individual brilliance, but we are now in a new era. Their passing is good, they have great ideas of what to do when they get the ball and they are building from the back.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt shows that the boys are well trained. So, I want to commend all the coaches for doing a good job. The organiser is also doing a good thing, and people in this community should be proud of him,\u201d Ikpeba submitted.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
